About Our Brazilian Jiu Jitsu – Flow BJJ Training
This class is focussed on technique development. Beginners are also welcome as there are no minimum belt requirements.
The word ‘Ju’ is translated to ‘flexible or supple’ while the word ‘jitsu’ refers to ‘art’ or ‘technique.’ Simply, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is an art-form that is rich with history. The core of Jiu Jitsu lies in the manipulation of an opponent’s force against himself instead of confronting it with your own force. The history of Jiu Jitsu can be traced back to Feudal Japan in the time of the Samurai warrior. The Samurai began learning techniques that had the ability to neutralise an enemy as opposed to full on striking. Essentially they were able to use the opponent’s energy and strength against the opponent himself. Over the years there have been numerous variations of the art of Jiu Jitsu. Today it is practised in a traditional and modern form combined.
We are able to offer a comprehensive and skill based course in Gracie Barra Jiu Jitsu. By combining skill, commitment and passion, we are able to teach Gracie Barra Jiu Jitsu at its fundamental core.
